What is GetOverX Shield and how is it different from a traditional antivirus?
#1
Hi everyone,
I just discovered GetOverX Shield and I’m wondering: is it just another antivirus or is it something more advanced? What modules does it include and what’s the main benefit of using it instead of a basic AV?

Hi Cool

GetOverX Shield is more than a classic antivirus. It’s a Next-Generation Security Suite that combines several protection layers in one interface: Antivirus, Firewall, HIPS, Sandbox, EDR, and administrative tools.

Here’s a quick overview:
  • Antivirus: Detects and neutralizes viruses, trojans, and potentially unwanted programs. It includes tools such as File Guard, Clean Your PC, File Erase and Network Hardening, and it supports both manual path scans and full system scans.
  • Firewall: Optimizes the built-in Windows Firewall through features like “Booster” (to harden network policies) and “Reset” (to restore safe defaults). It also lets you review and manage advanced rules created by GetOverX Shield.
  • HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System): Monitors processes in real time and blocks suspicious behavior, logging alerts and allowing fine-tuning through advanced rules.
  • Sandbox: Lets you run untrusted applications in an isolated environment so they can’t directly interact with your main system.
  • EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response): Continuously monitors the endpoint, tracks processes and behaviors, and uses analytics to detect anomalies early.
  • Tools & Configuration: Centralized logs, remote access, services management, USB scan, task manager, license details and corporate connectivity.
The main difference versus a simple AV is depth and visibility: you’re not only scanning files, you’re monitoring behaviors, firewall policies, sandboxed apps and endpoint telemetry from one unified console.
