What does “Clean Your PC” do inside the Antivirus module?

Hi,
I see an option called “Clean Your PC” in the Antivirus section of GetOverX Shield. Is this just a regular scan, or does it also remove junk files and optimize the system? I don’t want it to delete anything important by mistake.

Hi and welcome!  Cool

The “Clean Your PC” option inside the Antivirus module is focused on removing malicious or unwanted items, not random personal files. In practice, it does the following:

Scans for known malware, potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) and suspicious items.

Offers actions such as quarantine, delete or ignore, depending on the severity.

Can also help you remove leftover traces of infections, such as files or entries that are no longer needed after cleaning.

It is not a generic “registry cleaner” or “tune-up” tool that deletes arbitrary system files. The goal is to restore a safe state after detecting threats, while minimizing the risk of breaking legitimate applications.

If the tool is about to remove anything critical, it will show it in the result list and you can review it before confirming.
